>Pennsylvania Auxiliarist Receives Red Cross Award for CPR

>

On 18 January, the Honorable James Deleon, Coast Guard Auxiliarist from CG Auxiliary District 5 Northern Region, received an American Red Cross “Certificate of Appreciation for Extraordinary Personal Action”.

Auxiliarist Deleon and Mr. Joe Waters (not shown) assisted judicial candidate Beverly Muldrow when she collapsed while speaking at a public engagement in Philadelphia.  Auxiliarist Deleon and Mr. Waters were able to keep Muldrow alive by providing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) until Paramedics arrived on scene.  Their efforts were credited for saving her life thanks to their training and actions.

The above picture is of the award ceremony held at CG Sector Delaware Bay where Donna Palmieri from the American Red Cross provided the award.  Also pictured is CDR Terry Johns, Director CG Auxiliary, and CG Auxiliarist John Mosly (far left).
