>Gilmerton Bridge Replacement Project, Elizabeth River, Southern Branch, Chesapeake, VA
(Aug. 17 – Dec. 30, 2010)

The Captain of the Port Hampton Roads advises all local mariners, vessels and facilities that PCL Civil Constructors, Inc will have a 35 foot scow barge periodically moored to the west side fendering system of the Gilmerton Bridge across the Elizabeth River (Southern Branch), at AIWW mile 5.8, in Chesapeake, VA. from August 17, 2010, to December 30, 2010. The barge will obstruct part of the channel under the bridge but will not interfere with the drawbridge operations set out in Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations Part 117.997(d). The Tug Betsy will be on-scene monitoring VHF channel 13 and available to move the barge as needed for vessel traffic. The bridge tender may be contacted at (757) 545-1512 or via marine radio on Channel 13.
