>America’s Waterway Watch Program

>What do you get when you combine waves, a surfer, dredge equipment, a New York Times article, an amateur photographer, a local media outlet, and the internet? A pretty good story. Read for yourself.

In all seriousness, the Coast Guard requests anyone who spends time on or near the water to adopt a heightened sense of sensitivity toward unusual events or individuals they may encounter. If you notice suspicious activities – activities possibly indicating threats to our nation’s homeland security, the Coast Guard asks that you report it to the National Response Center at 877-24WATCH. If there is immediate danger to life or property, call 9-1-1 or call the Coast Guard on Marine Channel 16.
